How to Make a Cape

Capes are mysterious and can make fun Halloween costumes

Making a cape for yourself or your kid will be a fun project and guess what it is cheap!

Materials you'll need:

• Scissors

• Fabric Glue

• Ribbon or Decorations

• Safety Pin

• A Skirt - Sheet or a Shower Curtain

Kids before you do anything make sure you get permission before doing any cutting or gluing

Shower Curtain cape - take a ribbon and thread it through the holes at the top of the shower curtain.  Put it around your shoulders then after your get it to fit right put a knot in the ribbon right after the last hole to hold it in place.

Skirt Cape - Cut all the way up one side of the skirt or if it has a zipper take out stitches and remove the zipper.  Make a hole at the top of the skirt on each side.  Put a piece of ribbon through each hole and the tie a knot to hold it in place and then put your new cape on.

Sheet Cape - Cut each side of the hemmed end of the sheet.  The take your safety pin and ribbon and use the safety pin to help you snake the ribbon through the hemmed end.  Once ribbon is through your done and try on your cape.

Now that you have your cape made it is time to decorate it.  Take your decorations and start gluing them to your cape.  Your can add stars to make a wizard cape or just make a black cape for a Darth Vader Costume or Vampire Costume, it is all up to your imagination.
